Wang Guangtao was appointed as Minister of Construction, replacing shifted Yu Zhengsheng.

  • Mr. Wang Guangtao (b. 1944), Postgraduate, became Vice Mayor of Beijing City in 1998.
  • Mr. Yu Zhengsheng (b. April 1945), Bachelor, graduated from Missile Engineering Department of Harbin Military Engineering Institute in 1968, current Member of CPC Central Committee, became Secretary of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee in 2001 and Minister of Construction in 1998.

Peng Kaizhou was appointed as Vice Minister of Railways.

  • Mr. Peng Kaizhou became Director of General Office, Ministry of Railways, in 2000.

Xi Guohua was appointed as Vice Minister of Information Industry

Song Ruixiang was appointed as Director of Chinese Seismological Bureau, replacing Chen Zhangli

  • Mr. Song Ruixiang (b. Oct 1939), graduated from Nanjing Geology School in 1957, current Member of CPC Central Committee, became Deputy Director of State Administration of Environmental Protection in 1998, and Minister of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1994.
  • Mr. Chen Zhangli became Director of State Seismological Bureau in 1998.

Li Dongsheng was removed from Vice Governor of Hainan Province, and appointed as Vice Director of State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

  • Mr. Li Dongsheng became Vice Governor of Hainan Province in 1998.

Cheng Shi E was appointed as Deputy Secretary of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

  • Ms. Cheng Shi E (b. 1941), current Member of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, became Standing Member of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee in 1997, and Director of Beijing Supervision Bureau in 1999.

Huang Xiaoxiang and Wang Huaichen were appointed as Vice Governor of Sichuan Province.

  • Mr. Huang Xiaoxiang became Deputy Secretary-General of Sichuan Provincial Government in 1997.

Zhang Enzhao was appointed as Chairman of Construction Bank of China, replacing Wang Xuebing.

  • Mr. Zhang Enzhao (b. Dec 1946), became Vice Chairman of Construction Bank of China in 1999.
  • Mr. Wang Xuebing (b. 1953), BA, graduated from Beijing University of International Business and Economics in 1976, became Chairman of Construction Bank of China in 2000, Chairman of Bank of China in 1995, and President of Bank of China in 1993.

Wang Jun was removed from Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province.

  • Mr. Wang Jun (b. Mar 1952), Postgraduate, became Deputy Secretary of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee in 2001, Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province in 1999, and Vice Minister of Coal Industry in 1997.

Guo Shichang was removed from Vice Governor of Hebei Province.

  • Mr. Guo Shichang became Vice Governor of Hebei Province in 1993.

Wang Xianmin was removed and retired from Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province.

  • Mr. Wang Xianmin became Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province in 1998.
